Hello! I’m Elizabeth and I’m so glad you stopped by!

Kick off your shoes, exhale, and make yourself at home.

You, just like me, suffer from Chronic or Autoimmune Illness—in my case Crohn’s Disease—and I know how exhausted you may feel.  Everyday can be an incredible fight and you probably feel alone and helpless sometimes.

Cue: The Dancing Crohnie—that’s me.

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2011 and at my worst weighed 87 pounds (I’m 5’6), was dealing with excruciating abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, bleeding, malnutrition, anemia, joint pain, eye inflammation, mouth sores, sleepless nights, and, well, you get the drift.

I felt hopeless.

Dance was my life.  I was a professional concert dancer, dancing with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.

Due to my severe condition, I had to quit my job mid-season and focus on getting healthy.

I know what it’s like to feel like you’re on a hamster wheel.  Seeing countless doctors.  Trying countless medicines.  Feeling confused.

Feeling like nothing is working, like no one is listening or understanding your situation.  Feeling like you will never get better.

You think:

Is this how life is always going to be?

Will I always be this tired?

Will I always have to constantly think about my symptoms?

Will I always have to plan ahead just to do the simplest activities?

Will I always have this pain every. single. day? Is this my life?

Well, I’m here to remind you that you’re not alone.  I went through all these experiences.  I understand.  I was there. And there is hope.

Today, I am dancing through life with Crohn’s Disease. Although I still have bad days that creep in, for the most part, I am strong again. I am functioning and healing.

And so, I will be sharing tips, information, and inspiration for dealing with Inflammatory Bowel Disease like Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, or any Chronic/Autoimmune Illness for that matter.

8 years living with Crohn’s teaches you a lot!

So remember that you are stronger than you think!  You are a warrior who will get through this illness and conquer it.

This blog is for you!

A place to be empowered and encouraged.  A place to feel not so alone.  A place to share ideas and information.

Let’s come together and lift each other up.

I’m here for you. Consider me a new friend.
